How many MAT sessions are needed to see results?
Muscle Activation Technique (MAT) is a process and not a quick fix. MAT changes the way your body moves and responds to outside forces. Most of the time, the body adopts favorably immediately after a treatment. However, at times, MAT treatments expose preexisting issues.
For example, a client may initially have complained about pain in the knee. MAT specialist treats all knee and hip muscles that were limited and the knee no longer hurts. But now the client complains of a new pain in the foot. The treatment may now have to focus on the foot. This does not suggest that the foot is now a new problem. The foot was problematic before Muscle Activation Technique treatment, but as long as the knee and hip were stiff, the foot was protected. Cases like these clearly indicate that mechanical problems are integrated and that the MAT work is a process of facilitating balance in the entire body.
